Associate, Energy Engineer

Your Role: 

As an Engineering Associate within our growing team, you will be responsible for driving innovative energy infrastructure upgrades through development, design, implementation, and performance. Success in this position requires a driven individual who possesses strong technical abilities, communication skills, ability to work with cross functional teams, and has a deep interest in improving energy efficiency in our built environment. Though associates will have the opportunity to work on business development, construction, and engineering efforts, we are looking for individuals who want to pursue a career in Energy Engineering. You will work closely with our senior engineers to learn about and develop energy conservation measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Engineering and Coordination 

    • Identify innovative energy infrastructure upgrades through site audits, data analysis, and engineered drawing reviews.

    • Determine the cost-effectiveness of identified energy efficiency measures through rigorous savings calculations and evaluation of available financial incentives.

    • Assess energy conservation measurement viability through constructability analysis and coordination with trade contractors.

    • Drive internal and external technical communication with team members, clients, third-party consultants, subcontractors, and utility providers.

  • Business & Team Development

    • Contribute to competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) response submissions and sales presentations for federal, state, and private clients.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in engineering/STEM or an environmental field) and US work authorization required; undergraduate GPA > 3.5. 

  • Demonstrated interest in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and/or sustainability.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with diverse skill sets.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Location:

Our headquarters is in Arlington, VA. Join us in a city, neighboring Washington DC, that embraces innovation and sustainability. We strongly prefer new associates to be within a commutable distance for hybrid work schedules allowing for in-person/in-office mentorship.
